Like I said before, I do prefer the Maybelline Superstay Concealer because I like a natural, low maintenance look. And both need to be set with a powder under the eyes or they crease. But once they’re set with a powder, I think they wear for the same amount of time. Maybe just maybe the Superstay doesn’t stay put quite as long as the Fit Me (ironic), but neither of these concealers are longwearing. I think both these concealers wear about the same. It’s harder to go overboard with this concealer.
MAYBELLINE FIT ME CONCEALER BEFORE AFTER SKIN
It’s more low maintenance than the Fit Me because I don’t have to worry about prepping my skin as much (although using skincare really does help this concealer glide on better). And just as an overall concealer, it can bring out texture and dryness if the skin isn’t moisturized well.īecause the Superstay concealer has a lighter texture, I prefer to use it under my eyes. As an undereye concealer, the Fit Me benefits from a light layer of eye cream used as a base. But because it’s thicker, it brings out texture, particularly under my eyes. It covers up spots and discoloration better than the Superstay does.

Coverageīased on the formulas of the concealers, I bet you guessed it- the Maybelline Fit Me has more coverage. It’s not goopy, but it doesn’t glide onto the skin quite like the Superstay does. I wouldn’t call it a watery concealer, but it definitely is a lightweight product and looks smooth on application.īy contrast, the Maybelline Fit Me is a thicker concealer. I suppose it has a consistency similar to a gel or a serum. What exactly does that mean? I’m not totally sure. The Maybelline Superstay is unique in that it’s a gel/serum concealer. Even if you’re not good at identifying undertones- I definitely am not- the stark difference in undertones is obvious when you hold the concealers side by side. While it has a wider shade range, I find that the Fit Me has a strong yellow tone in its shade selections. ColorĪccording to the Maybelline website, the Fit Me has twice as many shades as Superstay, 12 versus 6. The Superstay Concealer comes in a more standard cylindrical tube with a blue cap. The geometric shape comes in handy and prevents your concealer from rolling onto the ground. The Fit Me Concealer is housed in a rectangular tube with a black cap. I decluttered my Fit Me concealer after ending my Project Pan so I don’t have any photos left of it, sorry! Packaging I just told this story so I could say that I wish there had been a comparison on the Fit Me and Superstay concealers back then, so I could’ve been a smart consumer and only bought one, instead of both! But since I already bought both concealers, I’m going to compare them for you, because this is the kind of blog post I wish I had access to back then. So what’s the moral of the story? There is none. And somehow, along the way, I actually ended up liking the Fit Me Concealer too. So in order to minimize waste, I threw the terrible product into my Project Pan. And I ended up liking it!Īs time went on, the Fit Me Concealer gathered dust in my makeup collection. In an effort to find the perfect drugstore concealer, I sought out its lesser known cousin, the Maybelline Superstay Concealer.

Much to my dismay, the Fit Me Concealer was filled with not magical skin concealing properties, but with disappointing goo. Even to this day, I cringe when I see the price of high-end concealers. Hyperbole, but seriously, purchasing a drugstore concealer really did feel like a treat. I trudged on through all the drugstores and purchased the concealer during a time when resources were scarce. Many years ago, people from all across the lands raved about the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. The Fit Me Concealer is a cult classic and the Superstay Concealer is its newer, lesser known cousin.īut first, before I begin, I’d like to share the story of my concealer journey. Both concealers have been around for at least a few years now. In my Project Pan, I used two products from the same brand: the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and Maybelline Superstay Concealer which I will be comparing and reviewing for you today. If you purchase through my link, I receive a commission at no added cost to you.
